Ninth National Conference
Healthcare Conferences UK in association with Christopher Fincken, Independent Member UK Caldicott Guardian Council, (Former Chairman) are pleased to announce this ninth annual conference which will focus on Information Sharing and Caldicott Principles in End of Life care. Following the success of our previous Caldicott Guardian National Conferences, and feedback from our regular Caldicott Training Masterclasses, this conference will focus on developing your role in improving communication and information sharing and implementing the Caldicott Principles at the end of life. The conference will also update delegates on the PRSB Palliative and End of Life Care Information Standard.
The conference will also consider information sharing in learning from deaths and reflect on information sharing with the coroner and the role of the Medical Examiner
“Medical examiners and officers should consider whether there were appropriate levels of communication with the patient, their representative, and their family or carers. The patient or those close to the patient may wish to be involved in the delivery of care or decisions supporting the delivery of care.”
National Medical Examiner’s Good Practice Series 2024
“People with a palliative or life-limiting illness at any age want their health and care team to know and respect their care needs and wishes. People also want everyone involved in their care, including family and carers, to have access to information to help them achieve the treatment and care that’s right for them at the end of life.”
Palliative and End of Life Care Standard PRSB
“Having conversations about end of life care can be hard. Once decisions have been made it’s vital that this information is recorded and shared in the right way so that a person can receive the care they want.”
Roberta Lovick, Carer speaking to PRSB
