When people understand the impact of unconscious bias, and what they can do to mitigate its effects, it can make all the difference. If you want to create an inclusive environment, where everyone feels they belong, seen and heard, unconscious bias training is essential.

Creating an inclusive and diverse setting, means you value your team members’ unique experiences and perspectives. However, unconscious biases can get in the way of achieving this.

Why do this training?

  • Almost 3,000 people in the UK were surveyed in a poll for the Guardian on their experiences with unconscious bias. People of colour stated they were more likely to have negative encounters than their white counter-parts reported.

Implicit stereotypes and associations can affect anything from recruiting new staff; and connecting with others, to creating a culturally diverse ethos. That’s why unconscious bias training has become crucial to many workplaces’ diversity and inclusion strategies.

This course explores the meaning of unconscious bias, the impact on mental health, and ways to overcome unconscious biases to create more open, inclusive, and effective communication within your setting. Using interactive exercises, case studies and practical activities there will be opportunities to reflect on the most important current issues in diversity management.

This one-day training course provides an informative and interactive session to help delegates understand the impact of unconscious bias.
