Ali said "self reported pain is the most reliable indicator that someone is in pain", "as nurses we are acutely aware of small changes, and so are family"
She went on to say " We, as nurses are there to make patients safe, and give them a quality service".
On death Ali said "Death is a part of life and we have to face up to it. When discussing death with patients family, we can cause harm by the language we use and by not being clear - it is really important to be clear".
