Strengths based leadership is about focusing on your own strengths and the strengths of your team and not their weaknesses or skills gaps. It Is based on decades of research by the research company Gallup. They found that the most effective leaders: Invest in employees’ strengths; Gather together the right people to ensure the best team: Understand the needs of their followers.
Gallup’s surveys found that leaders who used strengths based leadership had 99% engagement compared to 40% who had managers who who did not. Research shows that an engaged employee has 50% reduction in incidents and harm compared to disengaged employees.
