NHS Talking Therapies: Improving Access and Outcomes - In person

Wed, 2 Oct 2024

TheStudio, Birmingham

Follow the conference on X #TalkingTherapiesNHS

Psychological therapies have long been at the forefront of NHS mental health services and this conference serves to showcase a variety of services and professionals leading the industry with high-quality care. Join us as we discuss the current guidance, learn from case studies and evaluate the latest national developments from experts across the country.

“Talking therapies can be hugely beneficial for people with a range of mental health problems and we welcome any move to make sure that more people can easily access this type of treatment. However, it is crucial that people with mental health problems always have the option of face-to-face treatment, as we know many people, particularly those living in poverty, are excluded from being able to access digital treatment options.”

Gemma Byrne, Mind, July 2023

“Although the expansion of NHS Talking Therapies has largely been a success, there needs to be a wider range of psychological therapies available, with more consideration of how to close the gap for people from black and minority ethnic groups. This will ensure people are not unnecessarily excluded from better mental health and a better quality of life.”
